Dr Ramesh Kumar Sharma is one of India's leading plastic & reconstructive surgeons with decades of experience in various reconstructive and aesthetic surgeries. He has extensive experience in body contouring surgeries, facial aesthetic surgeries, genital rejuvenation, hand and maxillofacial trauma, post-burn deformities correction and post cancer surgery reconstruction. He has pioneered craniofacial and cleft lip correction surgery in India - and has trained hundreds of surgeons under him.

Over the course of his career, Dr Sharma has developed numerous surgical techniques and conducted groundbreaking research in areas such as breast reconstruction, cleft lip and palate surgery, craniofacial surgery and burn management. His dedication to advancing the field of plastic surgery has earned him prestigious awards and recognitions both nationally and internationally, including the PGI-Sawhney Teacher Award (2022) and several orations from esteemed medical institutions.

Dr Sharma has published over 240 peer-reviewed papers and served as an editorial reviewer for leading medical journals. A teacher at heart, he has mentored hundreds of future surgeons under him in various teaching capacities. Dr Sharma has led pro-bono surgical institutions in India to make advanced reconstructive surgeries more accessible to the underprivileged.

Currently, Dr Sharma serves as the Director - Department of Plastic Surgery at Paras Hospitals, Panchkula, Haryana. Prior to this, Dr Sharma presided as the Dean of Academic & Research and Head of Plastic Surgery at PGIMER, Chandigarh. Dr Sharma completed his medical training in India and USA, and has worked as surgeon in India, USA and Middle East.
